The Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner at the Boardwalk was held on Monday, 6 October 2014. Guest speaker Maps Maponyane shared some of the challenges and highlights of his career. This year the proceeds of the dinner went to the “Look Good, Feel Better Foundation”. This charity helps women facing the trauma and stress of cancer, assisting them to overcome the distressing appearance related to the side effects of their treatment.
The Practice also sponsored the Grahamstown Ladies Cancer Breakfast on Thursday, 2 October 2014. Guest speaker Joy Duffield shared her remarkable story of survival after a tragic accident that left her paralyzed. There were more than 160 ladies at the breakfast which was held in aid of the Grahamstown Hospice. We are very grateful to Dr Sandra Basson for a very well presented and informative speech which she shared with the ladies on why it is so important to remember your annual mammogram.
