A Message to Men
Gentlemen — your health matters. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men, but when detected early, it is also one of the most treatable. Too many men avoid screening out of
fear or uncertainty. The truth is, early detection not only saves lives — it preserves quality of life.
Taking that first step toward screening is a sign of strength, not fear.
Recognizing the Warning Signs
In its early stages, prostate cancer often causes no symptoms. However, as it develops, men may
experience:
• Difficulty or pain when urinating
• Weak urine flow or frequent urination, especially at night
• Blood in urine or semen
• Discomfort or pain in the lower back, hips, or pelvis
These symptoms can also occur with non-cancerous prostate conditions such as benign
enlargement, but they should always be discussed with your doctor. Early assessment allows for
the best possible outcome.
Understanding the Prostate and Cancer Development
The prostate is a small gland located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. It produces fluid
that nourishes and transports sperm. Prostate cancer develops when cells in this gland grow
abnormally. Some cancers grow slowly and remain confined to the prostate, while others are more
aggressive and can spread — making early diagnosis essential.
The MRI Process – What to Expect
Modern imaging plays a crucial role in detecting and assessing prostate cancer. At Bayradiology,
we use Multiparametric Prostate MRI, a sophisticated, non-invasive technique that provides
highly detailed images of the prostate and surrounding tissue.
During the scan:
• You’ll lie comfortably on the MRI table — the procedure is completely painless.
• The scan takes approximately 30–45 minutes and involves no radiation exposure.
• Throughout the entire process, our radiographers are close by, monitoring and
communicating with you to ensure your comfort and safety.
• Once complete, you can resume your normal activities immediately.
This advanced imaging technology enables radiologists to detect even small or early abnormalities,
often reducing the need for unnecessary biopsies and helping to guide precise, effective treatment
plans.
Reducing Your Risk
You can lower your risk by maintaining a healthy lifestyle:
• Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins.
• Stay physically active.
• Avoid smoking and limit alcohol consumption.
Take Charge of Your Health
Prostate cancer awareness isn’t just about statistics — it’s about men, their families, and their
futures. The earlier it’s found, the more treatment options are available, often with less invasive
outcomes.
At Bayradiology, we are committed to men’s health through advanced imaging, early detection,
and expert care — because every life deserves clarity, confidence, and compassion.
